Trip to Paris

November 2004

Started from london on friday night at 9:30 in bus. crossed the english channel at around 2:00 am in a large ferry. reached paris at 5:00am(6:00 am paris time). spent some time in the bus station freshening up. tried learn some french to take the 2 day metro travel ticket. after half an hour of learning french, learnt that the ticket collector knew english :) reached eiffel tower around 8:00am. got in at 10:00. was on top till 1:00pm. It was really amazing! great experience. only problem was that, it was quite cloudy, so we couldnt see much from the top floor of eiffel. anyway, it was great. from there, we decided to find our hotel which was somewhere in paris. managed to find it after asking a hundred people. room was nice. had a nice bath and started again we went to Louvre Museum. Saw the one and only "Mona Lisa" painting. and a few sculptures by pablo picasso, leonardo da vinci etc.. then we went to Arc de Triomphe, something like the India Gate. it was good. then started roaming the streets there. after sometime, went to eiffel tower again. it was dazzling in the night. unbelievably beautiful. spent a few hours just watching it. then went for boating through the River Seine, which flows across Paris. it was great, with a great guide, who explained a lot of history abt the city. reached the room back at around midnight.

The next day, we went to "Montmartre", a church on top of a hill. it was one of the most beautiful churches i had ever seen. such a peaceful atmosphere inside. i say it "WAS" the most beautiful because, after that we went to the famous church of Notre Dame. That was even more beautiful and huge than the other one. too good an experience to explain in words. after that, we decided to explore the streets of paris. this was the best part of the trip. it was damn good. the streets are so different, something special about them. that was it. had food, and then went to the bus station, and came back home to london. we took so many photos and videos but nothing can explain the feel that we got. also, the fact that we dint know the language made it more thrilling. anyway, learnt a lot of french in 2 days. bonjour, comment allez vous? good day, how are you? je bien. I am fine. merci beaucoup. thank you very much. pardonnez moi. sorry. that was my trip.
